All-Play-All
As many of you know, the All-Play-All is now in full swing and we've had a really good turn out at the Club over the last few weeks.
The main aim of starting the All-Play-All early was to give members a friendly competitive outlet during the summer season. We also wanted to try and increase the profile of and participation in this Club event. 45 games have been played to date and 16 players have now played at least one game, including a number of newcomers. I know there has been lots of interesting and enjoyable Chess played and we're all really pleased by this.

All-Play-All Trophy
We agreed at the AGM that we would publish a Leader Board from time to time and there will be a trophy for the 'Summer Leader', i.e. whoever is out in front at the end of August.
Update @ 19 September 2011
I am delighted to announce that Adrian Walker is the Summer cup winner, with a fantastic score of 23/29. A great effort and well done to Adrian for winning the first prize of the new season. More generally though, thanks to everybody for competing over the Summer months. The club has been really busy and I know lots of interesting and enjoyable games have taken place, which is what it's all about.
Whilst League and other events start shortly, there is still plenty of Chess left to be played in the All-Play-All over the coming months. Following feedback, we are going to alter the All-Play-All prizes on offer for the rest of the season. There will be a new prize for the best Under 125 player at the end of the season. There will also be a prize for the person who scores the most points in the Competition between now and the end of the Season (replacing the previous separate prizes for the Christmas and Spring Leader.) Of course, the overall winner will be the person with the most points by close of play on the Tuesday before the AGM. Can Adrian be caught??

* The eligibility of players currently without a grade will be determined by any grade they have on the January 2012 list. If they do not qualify for a grade on this list, a calculation will be made on the basis of rated games played in Leamington and District League competitions.
Good luck for the rest of the season!
