Leamington Players have a good day at the Leamington rapid play

Leamington players all had a good day at the Leamington and District Rapid play on the 11th of November, with four players ending up in the prizes and lots of other strong showings.

Adrian Walker and Ben Graff were joint winners in the Under 150, with 5/6.

Andy Price was equal second in the under 170 with 4/6. Mark Page won the slow starter prize in the Open with 3/6.

Andy Collins and Tom Darling both scored 3.5/ 6 in the U-150 and Richard Louth and Peter Legget also had creditable days in the U-150 and U-120 respectively.

A very enjoyable day. Let's hope everybody can take this kind of form into our League matches! Well done to all.

ECF County Championship Finals, 2 July 2011

Four Club members recently represented Warwickshire in the 2010 - 2011 ECF County Championships: Roy Hadfield, Peter Leggett and Guy Greenland competed in various rounds of the U120 section, and Mark Armitage followed suit in the U100 section. All four players enjoyed some memorable games and pleasant trips to the various venues.

After several matches, both teams were successful in reaching the Grand Finals held in Leicester on 2 July 2011 (during a heatwave!). Peter, Guy and Mark played in the Finals (Roy was unavailable, unfortunately) with the U120 team being victorious by the narrow margin of 6.5 - 5.5 against Lancashire, the U100 side being beaten by Essex 3.5 - 8.5.
